Situated in the North East of Scotland, Banchory is a burgh or town in Aberdeenshire. It's about 18 miles outside of Aberdeen to the west, near where the River Dee meets the Feugh River. There’s lots to see for residents of Banchory, as the town has a number of historic churches and is located near to two infamous castles – Drum and Crathes. It is also a popular tourist destination as the gateway to Royal Deeside.
Banchory is the largest town in the surrounding area, and has an attractive high street. Banchory has seen a lot of growth since 2001 and a new housing estate in the north east of the town has seen an influx of new residents.
