Crookston, a residential suburb of Glasgow, is situated on the south west of the city to the south of the River Clyde. Flats in Crookston are bordered by the areas Ibrox, Hillington, Halfway and Priesthill.
There are several schools nearby to Crookston including Crookston Primary School, St Monica’s Primary School, Bonnyholm Primary School and Lourdes Secondary School so it’s a great option for young families. Crookston is also a convenient option for students as Cardonald College and Langside College reside nearby to the area.
As well as this, a property in Crookston allows its residents easy access to local amenities, with several local shops including a Scotmid and Morrisons, a Post Office, Boots Pharmacy, Haddows and many more. A ten minute drive from Crookston you will find Silverburn Shopping Centre, hosting an abundance of shops including Tesco, Debenhams, Republic, New Look and Scotland’s largest Marks and Spencer store. There are also good commuting routes into Glasgow City Centre. Whilst it used to be a village as well, the south west of Glasgow retains a different feel to other suburban ex-villages like Robroyston.
Crookston was only annexed by Glasgow in the 1920’s (at the same time as Cardonald, Hillington and Halfway), and so is lacking the Victorian tenement flats that are available elsewhere across Glasgow in districts like Dennistoun.
